On her wedding day to Prince Li Chi, noblewoman Xie Wan Yin witnesses the brutal killing of her father-in-law by the legendary national teacher, Dongfang Zui. Soon, she becomes his target. Despite her initial belief that he intends to kill her, Dongfang Zui instead forces her to marry him to control her family. Xie Wan Yin, determined to resist, plans to kill him. However, on their wedding night, Dongfang Zui surprises her by holding her hand and allowing her to stab him.
